Tim Abbey - Broker/Property Management 910 548-2836 TimAbbey@RealEXIT.com My name is Timothy B. Abbey. I was born in Springfield Ohio on August 8, 1965, and am the oldest of three boys. My father, Vincent A. Abbey Jr. and Mother, Mary M. Abbey have worked at and ran the family bus business since before I was born. My brothers and I all played various sports through school and worked at the bus station during different parts of our lives. I can say with certainty that we can attribute a portion of our upbringing and strong work ethic to an ethos of discipline and pitch-in and help out. After graduating in 1984, I joined the Marine Corps with a technical degree in Auto and Diesel Engineering. After completing boot camp at Paris Island SC, the plan was to go into the combat arms field. As soon as the Corps noticed that I was certified in Auto and Diesel repair, I was off to Camp Johnson, NC to fill a void and become a Marine Corps Mechanic. Mechanized infantry. After spending three plus years traveling the Far East based from Okinawa, I saw that I liked the Corps; I just didn’t want to make a career out of being a mechanic. So much for that Technical Degree. Anyway, with the help and recommendations of a supportive Command and after a couple screenings and couple interviews and a litany of paperwork, I found myself in “On the Job Training” in the Intelligence field awaiting a school seat. Since joining the Intelligence Community some 17 years ago my career took off and I can’t imagine where I would be or what I would be doing today had I not taken that opportunity. There was a lot of training and schools mixed in there. But over the years I have served at all the various levels of command from RECON to Infantry Battalions, Squadrons flying as a crew member on CH-46 Sea-night helicopters and Marine Expeditionary Units to working Counter Narcotics trafficking in the Caribbean, Central and South America to mention but a few. Along the way I married the most wonderful woman, Anna, who has stood by my side during the most trying times, often standing alone during deployments keeping the home fires burning as well as being there to celebrate during the best times. We have two wonderful daughters, Monica Lynn who will be a senior this year, and Rebecca Lynn who will start Middle school this year. So all that being said, why Jacksonville and why Real Estate? As for Jacksonville, we like the environment, being close to Marines and Camp LeJeune. As for Real Estate, well I have always been fascinated with all the intricacies involved in it and it’s an awesome way to stay attuned to the pulse of Jacksonville and still give something back to the brave men and women who continue to serve.
